West Ham in talks to ‘finalise’ signing – Club have serious hope of moving player to PL

West Ham United were keen on signing Juniro Firpo in January, but a deal never took shape and the left-back is still at Barcelona.

The Hammers continued to be named as a suitor, and on May 20th, Mundo Deportivo explained they even ‘probed him’ for this summer.

Operating as a left-back, the 24-year-old was restricted to only 18 appearances across all competitions as he mainly played as a backup for Jordi Alba.

Sport on Wednesday explain the La Liga side must offload some players before the end of this month and despite the current market situation, they remain ‘confident’ of closing some exit operations in the coming weeks.

At the Camp Nou, there is serious hope of being able to sell the former Real Betis man to a Premier League club.

West Ham have an interest, and they have been holding talks with the Catalan club for days, to ‘finalise an agreement’. The position of two parties ‘would already be quite close’.

Barcelona will need a minimum fee of €16m for the player, in order to avoid losses, and that’s the price they have now set to sanction Junior’s sale. Sport are of the belief there are clubs willing to meet this figure, if the left-back gives his approval for a summer move.

Kral pours cold water on crazy transfer speculation

West Ham transfer target Alex Kral has poured a little cold water on wild speculation that he is on verge of becoming a Hammer but has left the door slightly ajar.

The Spartak Moscow and Czech republic defensive midfielder is quoted as responding to transfer rumours by saying “I’m not anywhere in the Premier League yet. We talk about it a lot in advance, people are going a little crazy now.”

As normal in transfer rumours things are not always as far along as some would like to claim and reports can often be premature.

Yesterday, there were claims that Kral has agreed on personal terms with West Ham, which comes after his agent originally said that his client’s future would be sorted before the Euro finals start, which is the 11th June in just ten days time.

The 23-year-old national teammate of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal is said to be available for around £14m this summer.

One that's confused me....

Arsenal are leading the race to sign Manchester City's England winger Raheem Sterling, 26, in a deal that could stop England striker Harry Kane, 27, joining City from Tottenham. (Sun)

How does Sterling joining Arsenal stop Kane joining City? am I missing something here?

Also rather obvious but why on earth would Sterling going to consider joining Arsenal?!? Swear they make these rumours up by picking names and clubs out of a hat.
